- How can I pay for Showmax?
There are many safe and secure ways to pay. In most territories we accept credit and debit cards (MasterCard and Visa), PayPal and various other easy payment methods. Showmax payment methods vary from country to country.

- How do I change my payment method?
- Go to showmax.com and sign in.
- Go to My Account and select Manage Subscription.
- If you have an existing payment method, cancel it.
- Select Subscribe now, and choose a new payment method.
- Why am I billed in US Dollars when paying with PayPal?
Applicable to South African subscribers only: As PayPal do not currently process transactions in South African Rand, all PayPal transactions are billed in US Dollars. Please note that the actual amount that you will be charged in South African Rand when using PayPal will depend on the exchange rate applied and fees charged by your financial institution.
- When will I be billed for my Showmax subscription?
When you subscribe to Showmax, you will be charged for your first month of service, and then payments will be automatically processed on the same day of each following month until you choose to cancel your subscription.
Please note that if you make your first payment on the last day of the given calendar month, your billing date will be set to the last day of the following months for the duration of your recurring subscription (e.g., when you purchase your subscription on 31st March, your next payment will be processed on 30st April, and so forth).
- Can I cancel my Showmax Subscription?
Yes. Although we would be sorry to see you go.
You will still have access to Showmax for the remainder of the month that you have paid for but we will not bill you for the following month.
- What must I do if my Showmax subscription has expired?
You will need to reactivate your subscription. To reactivate your subscription sign in and select My Account under your username. Select Manage Subscription and choose a new payment method and follow the steps.
You will be billed immediately for the next month and thereafter will be billed automatically every month.
- Why did I receive an email saying there was a problem with my payment?
There could be many reasons although the most common are that the card has expired or been cancelled. Sometimes there may be insufficient funds.
- Why did I not get a free 14 day trial when I subscribed to Showmax?
While we have offered a 14-day free trial for certain plans in the past, as of October 23rd, 2023, we no longer provide free trials.

We recommend you check with your bank if your card is eligible for monthly recurring payments. Alternatively, Showmax offers secure prepaid subscription purchases.
- How do I cancel payment through a 3rd party?
To cancel payment through a 3rd party, please contact the 3rd party directly.
Once this is done, you will be able to see the full list of payment options available to you when you access My Account, Manage Subscription.
- Why is there no content under certain sections?
Sections and their content are country specific. We determine your country based on your physical location and payment country. If you are seeing empty sections, your physical location and payment country don't match. To resolve this, use the one time pin process via your mobile phone to confirm your physical location, to do this; On the Showmax website, go to My Account, Manage Subscription and delete your current payment method. Add the payment method again, and ensure that you complete the one time pin process when prompted to do so.
- Why am I seeing credit in my stored payment methods?
After switching to a third party billing method, any unused days on your previous billing method will be credited to your account.
- Prepaid Subscription: What happens when my subscription expires?
When your subscription expires you will no longer have access to watch content on the Showmax platform. To resolve this go to “Manage Subscription” in the “My Account” settings and you will be able to reactivate/ change your billing details.
- Prepaid Subscription: How do you verify this subscription?
Cardholders may be eligible, or may already be enrolled in the “Verified by Visa”, Mastercard SecureCode program. Upon selecting and submitting your preferred prepaid bundle, your card issuer may prompt you for your password before you complete your purchase.
- Prepaid Subscription: How do I know if my card is enabled for 3D secure payments?
We recommend cardholders to check with their bank if their card is already enabled for 3D secure payments.
- Prepaid Subscription: Which subscriptions can be purchased?
1, 3 and 6-month prepaid subscriptions can be purchased.
- Why am I billed in the local currency?
In certain countries, we may bill you for the subscription fees in your local currency as per our terms and conditions Clause 11.3.8.
The currency in which we will bill you will be displayed within the price points of the subscription fee
